Beautify Your Plano

Volunteer

The Great American Cleanup is a perfect time for neighbors to get together to clear streets, alleys, and creeks of litter.

Last year, 1,639 neighbors removed nearly 10 tons of debris from Plano’s neighborhoods, and this year, we want to see even more involvement! Connect with your neighbors, create a plan, and register yourself or your cleanup team with the Sustainability and Environmental Education Division. This Citywide clean-up event runs 9 – 11 a.m., Saturday, April 14 and will culminate with a beach themed after-party in the Chase Oaks Church Parking Lot. Registration opens March 1. Free t-shirts for participants are limited – so register early. For more information, visit Plano.gov/GAC.

Looking to give back to other neighborhoods across Plano? Neighborhood Services has several wonderful opportunities throughout the year to help seniors, veterans, and other neighbors in need. Volunteer with Love Where You Live or Plano CARES to help with minor home repairs, yard maintenance, or neighborhood litter removal. The Love Where You Live Spring Service Day is coming up fast on April 28, 2018. Plano CARES takes place on the second Saturday of every month, March through November. Visit Plano.gov/VolunteerWithNSD to learn more about these and other opportunities.
