Give Back in Your Neighborhood Through Volunteering!

newsletter volunteer

Plano CARES connects local volunteers to residents in need of assistance with common property code violations. While most residential violations are quickly resolved, those who are not able to correct violations because of physical or financial hardships can find assistance through Plano CARES. Eligible violations may include minimal tree trimming, trash removal, damaged fence removal/repair, accessory building removal/repair, and minor exterior home repair. If you enjoy do-it-yourself projects, this is the perfect opportunity for you to give back to the local community on the second Saturday of each month!

Love Where You Live is a partnership between Plano neighborhoods, volunteer partners, and the City. Our mutual goal is to transform communities through social and physical revitalization. Love Where You Live focuses efforts on a limited area to clean-up, repair, and reinvigorate the neighborhood. Love Where You Live volunteers work on neighborhood-wide initiatives including litter and creek cleanups as well as minor repairs to the exteriors of homes in the spring and fall of each year. Typical projects may include tree trimming, landscaping, minor fence and structural repairs, allowing residents to once again Love Where They Live.

To get involved in either of these programs, contact Neighborhood Services at 972-208-8150.
