Homeless Housing and Services Program (HHSP
The City of Plano is a new recipient of HHSP funds from the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs. These funds are allocated annually to municipalities with a population of 285,500 or more and can be used to fund housing and services for persons experiencing homelessness. The City has chosen to use these funds to provide a Rapid Re-housing Program. The City is currently soliciting proposals from non-profit organizations to administer the program. The Request for Proposals (RFP) is currently open and can be found below. Please read the RFP carefully for the timeline and all instructions related to this process.
Robert W. Buffington Community Service Grant
The City of Plano recognizes the need for community services with the City and, for this reason, makes funds available for social services. The majority of these funds will be granted to agencies that provide for emergency needs for Plano residents, such as food, shelter, clothing, and preventive health care.
U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Grants
The City of Plano receives funding annually from HUD as a participating jurisdiction in the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnership (HOME) programs. Funds are spent in accordance with the 2015-2019 Consolidated Plan Opens a New Window. .
